Description: 

Khatra is a Sub-Division sharing its border with Ranibandh, Simlapal of Bankura district .Some parts of Khatra are covered by dense forest. Khatra is in the south-west of Bankura District, which is to the west of the southern part of West Bengal. Mukutmonipur is a major tourist attractions.The second biggest earth dam of India is located in Mukutmonipur. Others important places are Jhilimili and Sutan Forest.

1. Mukutmonipur Dam:

Mukutmonipur, situated in the confluence of river Kangsabati and Kumari , has the second biggest earther Dam of India. The hills, the forest and beautiful Greenery surround the vast bluish tract of water, Hillocks are essentially a dream come here. The place is very much famous for its superb natural beauty.

 

 

 

2. Jhilimili Forest:

Jhilimili offers a magnificent revelation to impressive forest of changeable heights on both sides on the route. The Kangsabati flows through this forest and its banks are an ideal picnic spot. The watch tower at Jhilimili offers a majestic view of the surrounding area.

 

 

3. Sutan Forest:

Khatra is also popular for beautiful Tourist Spots like Sutan, Near Ranibandh & Eco-Park near Taldangra, both covered with dense forest, decorated with small lakes and packed with wild animals. Sutan has a Tourist Cottage of West Bengal Forest Department.
